It's the question we hear most when people book with us: "Do I need a light cleaning or a deep cleaning?" The short answer: if your home hasn't been professionally cleaned in the last month or two, start with a deep cleaning. After that, light cleanings every week or two keep it that way. Here's how the two compare.
What a light cleaning covers
A light cleaning is our recurring-style clean. It keeps a home that's already in good shape fresh and tidy:
- Dusting reachable surfaces
- Kitchen and bathrooms cleaned
- High-touch points disinfected, like handles and switches
- Beds made
- Floors vacuumed and mopped
What a deep cleaning adds
A deep cleaning includes everything in a light cleaning, then goes after the buildup that regular cleaning skips:
- Baseboards, doors and trim
- Ceiling fans and vents
- Tile grout
- Soap scum and hard-water spots in showers and tubs
- All items and decor cleaned by hand
- The inside of the microwave

Because each of those jobs takes detail tools and time, a deep cleaning takes longer and costs more. Once it's done, your light cleanings go faster.
Choose a deep cleaning if…
- It's your first professional cleaning, or it's been more than a couple of months.
- You see dust on fan blades, dark grout or cloudy shower glass.
- You're hosting guests, getting ready to sell, or moving in or out.
- You're starting weekly or biweekly service. A deep clean first sets the baseline.
Choose a light cleaning if…
- Your home was deep cleaned recently and you want to keep it up.
- You're already on a weekly or biweekly schedule.
- You mainly want the kitchen, bathrooms and floors fresh for the week.
What it costs
For a small home (3 bed / 2 bath, up to 1,999 sq ft), light cleanings start at $180 and deep cleanings start at $304, plus tax. Recurring weekly, biweekly or monthly service saves 10% to 30% on every visit. You can see every home size on our pricing page.
